Consistent service for doggy day care

I've used Rover for doggy day care several times for my beagle. This most recent booking was just as reliable as the others. Found my usual sitter easily, confirmed everything, and my dog always comes back happy and tired. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect and it's always good.

Decent cat sitting, minor app glitch

I booked cat sitting for a long weekend. The sitter was great with my fussy Siamese, sent good updates, and the booking was confirmed quickly. The value for money was fair. My only small gripe was the app acting a bit slow when I tried to message the sitter once, but it eventually went through. Overall, a positive experience, and I'd use them again.

My puppy loved the drop-in visits!

Oh my goodness, I booked drop-in visits for my new puppy and it was just fantastic! The sitter was so sweet and sent me the cutest pictures during every visit. My little guy got playtime and potty breaks, and I could tell he was so well looked after. I'm definitely using Rover again for everything!

Dog walking worked out

Needed someone to walk my pug, Rocky, while I was stuck at work late a few times last month. Used Rover to find a walker. It was super easy to set up, and the person they sent was great with him. Rocky seemed happy, so I was happy. No drama, just worked.

Reliable house sitting experience

I booked house sitting for a week for my two cats while I was away. The booking process on the website was straightforward; I could easily filter by sitters with cat experience. Communication with the sitter before and during the stay was excellent through the app. They sent daily updates and photos, which was reassuring. My cats were well cared for, and the house was just as I left it. The Trust & Safety fee felt a bit high, but the peace of mind was worth it. I appreciated the detailed profile information for each sitter.

Good value for first booking

I was looking for dog boarding for my lab during a weekend trip. Found Rover and saw there was a first-time user discount. Saved me a solid $20 which made a difference. Felt like a good deal overall for what I paid.

Does Rover actually do background checks on their sitters? Just wondering how legit it is.

E Eric S. 5 days ago
Yeah they do. It's part of their whole Trust & Safety thing. Gives you a bit more peace of mind.

I think they do a basic one, like criminal history and stuff. You can also meet the sitter beforehand, which I always recommend doing anyway to see if they're a good fit for your pet.

How do you pay for services on Rover? Is it like, directly to the sitter or through the app?

K Kevin Garcia 2 weeks ago
It's all through the app. You don't pay the sitter directly with cash or anything. Keeps everything tracked.

You pay through the Rover platform. They handle all the transactions and then pay the sitter, minus their service fee. It's pretty straightforward, uses your card on file.

Is Rover usually slammed around Christmas? Thinking of booking someone for boarding but worried about availability if I wait.

R Richard 2 weeks ago
Oh for sure, pretty much any holiday is crazy. Book early if you want good options, especially if you have specific sitters in mind.

Yeah, Christmas is definitely a peak time. Memorial Day and Thanksgiving too. Spring Break also gets pretty busy. I'd try to lock something in soon if you can.

Is the insurance thing actually good or just a marketing gimmick? Worried about my pup if something goes wrong.

J Jessica H. 2 weeks ago
They have something called Rover Guarantee or Protect or whatever it is. It's not full-on insurance for everything, but it covers certain medical expenses if something happens during a booking. Worth looking into the specifics.

It's not like personal pet insurance, but Rover does have a trust and safety policy that includes some coverage for vet costs in case of an incident. Always read the fine print, but it's better than nothing.

Considering Rover for cat sitting, but also looked at Wag. Anyone have thoughts on which is better for cats specifically?

M Mary T. 1 month ago
I've used Rover for my cat and had good experiences. Wag seems more dog-focused to me, but I could be wrong.

For cats, Rover has a good selection of sitters who specialize in feline care. Wag is definitely more known for dogs, especially walks. I'd probably lean Rover for cat specific stuff.
